| Our preliminary electronic ballot for teachers in England state-funded schools is now open. We’re asking you to have your say on the government’s unfunded 2.8 per cent pay offer, which risks stretching school budgets to breaking point and won’t solve the recruitment and retention crisis. |

| Thousands voted for this government in the hope things would get better. But imposing another real terms pay cut on teachers and forcing schools to make more cuts to staffing and provision will push many over the edge. The National Education Union (NEU) national executive recommends that you vote to ‘REJECT’ the unfunded 2.8 per cent and vote ‘YES’ to indicate your willingness to take strike action to secure a fully funded, significantly higher pay award that takes steps to address the crisis in recruitment and retention. You can read more about why we are recommending this here.It is vitally important that you take part – we urge you to vote as soon as possible, and no later than the closing date of 11 April. We must send a message to the government: do the right thing – fund a fair, significantly above-inflation pay rise for all staff. We are prepared to do what is necessary to ensure fairness for our pupils and secure the future of our schools. |
