| I hope you are settling in well and that the start of term has been as smooth as possible for you and your students. Over the summer and into this term, the NEU has continued to speak out on the issues that matter most to our members. Most recently, we have been vocal in the press about Ofsted’s new inspection framework, which we believe is a “superficial rebrand” that fails to address the real pressures facing educators. You can read more about our stance and the coverage in the Wirral Globe here: Wirrals NEU slams new ofsted report card system. We have also taken action locally at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Birkenhead, where NEU members are standing up against proposed redundancies and challenging unacceptable working conditions. You can read about the situation and our response here: NEU Condemns Redundancies at St Joseph’s Catholic School Upcoming Events Please sign up for our upcoming meetings. For NEU Reps
If you’re a rep, don’t forget to add the new NEU reps page to your phone or tablet home screen! This turns it into an “app” you can open with a single tap—no more searching through emails or bookmarks. You’ll have instant access to all the latest resources, guidance, and updates, right at your fingertips, whenever you need them. It’s the quickest way to stay connected and empowered in your role! How to do it: On most devices, just open the page in your browser, tap the share or menu button, and select “Add to Home Screen.”
That’s it! Now you’ve got a shortcut to everything you need as a rep.
No Rep in Your School?
If your workplace doesn’t yet have a rep, we strongly encourage you to book a meeting with a local secretary to discuss how we can support you and your colleagues. You can do this quickly and easily using this link:
