Five-day delegation to Auschwitz, Poland


Members are invited to apply for a five-day delegation to Auschwitz, Poland from Sunday 25 May 2025 to Friday 30 May 2025.

The Union is pleased to offer 10 members and 5 District Secretaries a place on this anti-racism educational tour to study the Holocaust and mark the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau.

About the Delegation

The NEU has a longstanding affiliation with Stand Up To Racism, a UK organisation that campaign against racism, fascism, Islamophobia and antisemitism, who are co-organising the tour. This educational study tour will be facilitated by David Rosenberg and Julia Bard, who are members of the National Committee of the Jewish Socialist group and have helped to organise educational visits to Auschwitz.

Delegates will visit:

·        The Warsaw Ghetto

·        The Jewish Quarter in Krakow

·        Auschwitz-Birkenau

Members will also participate in workshops including on the Holocaust, the Far Right in Poland with Andy Zebrowski and Suzanna- an artist and feminist in Everyday Resistance- and Progressive Education in Poland from a Teaching Union in Krakow.

How to Apply

Members can apply with the support of their Districts by using the application form, which can be found on the website.

The form must be signed by the District Secretary and requires the applicant to complete a statement that includes outlining their experience of/interest in anti-racism work and the Holocaust, and pledged solidarity activities upon return.

Please note, applications made by members without the approval of their District will not be accepted. Please see eligibility criteria on the webpage.

The deadline for the receipt of nominations is 12pm, Friday 7 March.
