Introduction of our New Secretary

I’m pleased to introduce myself, Michael Farrelly, as the new District Secretary for the Wirral branch of the National Education Union (NEU). I have been actively involved in the NEU, previously serving as the District Assistant Secretary. I am dedicating to advocating for educators’ rights and improving working conditions.

I look forward to continuing my efforts in supporting our members and enhancing the quality of education in our community.

My Plans and Initiatives

As the new District Secretary, I have outlined several key initiatives and plans for my tenure:

1. Enhanced Support for Educators: I aim to provide more robust support for teachers and educational staff, including professional development opportunities and mental health resources.
2. Advocacy for Fair Working Conditions: I plan to continue advocating for fair pay, reasonable workloads, and safe working environments for all NEU members.
3. Community Engagement: I am committed to increasing the NEU’s engagement with the local community, fostering stronger relationships between schools, parents, and community organizations.
4. Policy Influence: I intend to work closely with local and national policymakers to influence education policy in ways that benefit both educators and students.
5. Member Involvement: Encouraging greater member participation in NEU activities and decision-making processes is a priority for me, ensuring that all voices are heard and represented.
