Guest Speaker: Carl Parsons – Co Author of How to Dismantle the English State Education System in 10 Easy Steps: The Academy Experiment

In the formal business part of the evening, decisions were made to reduce the subscription levy for Wirral members and financially support several initiatives and campaigns. There were discussions around the use of funds and current financial picture, officers’ reports and a rousing address from outgoing President Jan Maher. Incoming President Neil Sledge closed the meeting with a short singalong and a poem by Benjamin Zephaniah.
The setting was stunning – Leasowe Castle Hotel; the food was excellent, and we finished up having a drink in the bar.
